How do I limit library search results to only Ohio University?
To limit your library search results to only materials held by Ohio University Libraries:
- First, make sure you're signed into the library search website so that you have access to all Ohio University materials. See How do I login to the library catalog?
- Option 1: Set the search scope to OHIO Library Catalog. This will limit the search to Ohio University Libraries materials.
- Go to "Library Search" in the top menu.
- Type your search term in the search box.
- Hover in the search box and a dropdown menu with a list of search scope options will appear.
- Select OHIO Library Catalog to limit it to physical and digital items belonging only to Ohio University Libraries (item #1 in the screenshot below)
- Option 2: If you're already reviewing search results you can use the Library or Location filters on the left-hand side of the search results to limit the search to a particular library in the Ohio University Libraries system.
- For example, in the "Library" filter, select the Ohio University library you're wanting to search, e.g. "Vernon R. Alden Library".
- For example, in the "Library" filter, select the Ohio University library you're wanting to search, e.g. "Vernon R. Alden Library".
- If you want to limit your search to physical items held by a particular library, then in the "Availability" filter, select "Held by library". Note: if you add this filter without filtering by Library it will allow you to see all libraries that hold copies.
