How do I use the RODE Wireless Go Microphone?

What's in the kit: 

A labelled display of chords, microphones, and dongles. Figure is explained in the text below.

 

  • A: USB to USB-C charging cable.
  • B: USB to USB-C charging cable.
  • C: Audio Cable ( Receiver Aux cable). 
  • D: Lapel Microphone
  • E: Audio to USB-C dongle. 
  • F: RØDE Microphone Transmitter.
  • G: RØDE Microphone Receiver. 
  • H: Audio dongle. 

How to Use the RØDE Microphone

  1. Press and hold power button on the Transmitter (F) for three seconds. Then, do the same for the Receiver (G).

  2. The devices will already be paired to each other. 
  3. Clip the Transmitter to the clothing of the person you are recording (their shirt or a jacket lapel would be best) using the clip (A) on the back of the Transmitter.

  4. Connect the Receiver (G) to the audio port of your camera using the Receiver Aux chord (C).

Additional tips

  • The Transmitter has a built-in microphone. Another can be attached. 
  • You can charge both devices with a standard USB-C charging cable. 
  • To turn off the devices, hold the power buttons for 3 seconds. 
  • If your audio output is too high, cycle through the audio output levels using the dB button. 
  • If the microphone isn't paired, push the pairing button on the Receiver. 

Overview of Transmitter and Receiver

  • A: The LavMic input allows you to plug in an audio cable and/or an additional microphone to the Transmitter. 
  • B: The inbuilt microphone is the transmitters microphone.
  • C: The charge status light tell you how much battery life is left in the Transmitter-if it's blinking it's low on charge.
  • D: The connection status light shows the two pieces of the microphone are connected. If this light is blinking, they are not connected. 
  • E: The Db button adjusts the decibel levels. 
  • F: The linking button-press this when the two pieces of the microphone are not connecting wirelessly it will reconnect the devices. 
  • G and H: The lapel clips to attach the microphone to clothing.
