How do I request materials from other Ohio University Libraries locations?

Requesting materials from other University Libraries locations is similar to requesting them from your home campus library, and it will arrive within 3-5 business days.

  1. Change the search to Library Catalog and type in your title
This contains the search bar with library catalog chosen and the book title type into the search box

  2. Click the spy glass

  3. Click on the title of the item record that you want to request
An item record for Superman : the war years, 1938-1945

  4. This title has one holding location from an OHIO University Library under LOCATION ITEMS and another under GET IT FROM OTHER INSTITUTIONS.
a list of locations where the book Superman : the war years, 1938-1945 is located

  5. You can choose either, but if you have the option, choose an OHIO University Library location because you will have the book under OU Libraries loan rules. In the case of most books, the full semester. For other institutions, 3 weeks with a 6-time renewal option.

  6. Click Request and choose your pickup location
a request box showing the the pickup location has been changed to my location being Vernon R. Alden Library

  7. Review your request details and choose SEND REQUEST.
