Is it possible to access the book stacks or study spaces on closed floors in Alden, when only the 2nd or 4th floor is open?

When the 2nd and/or 4th floors are open and the other floors of Alden are closed, service desk staff will retrieve known items from other floors for you to check out. Simply take the title and call number to either the 2nd or 4th floor service desk for help.

Also, Ohio University graduate students, HTC students, Cutler Scholars, or faculty may present their Ohio ID to the service desk staff for a stacks pass in order to access other floors of Alden Library.

Other students with special projects or needs can request limited access by contacting Chad Boeninger, Interim Assistant Dean for Research and Education Services.

Note that during breaks or holidays, when staffing is limited, there may be times when staff are unavailable to retrieve materials and stacks passes are unavailable.
