How do I Find a Book in the Alden Children’s Collection?

  1. To search for books in the Alden Children’s Collection, use the ALICE keyword search function on the library homepage
  2. Once you have searched for a keyword, like Abraham Lincoln, click on the link at the top of the results page that says Modify Search
  3. In the Location drop down menu, choose location Alden Children’s Collection
  4. Your search results should only show items located in the Alden Children’s Collection, located on the seventh floor of the library

The Children’s Collection is primarily designed to serve students and faculty in the fields of early childhood, elementary, and secondary education. Books of fiction in the collection are suitable for all ages from infants to high school age students. Non-fiction books serve preschool through middle school age students. Books are primarily in the English language, but a small portion of the books are in other languages. The Collection includes all of the Caldecott and Newbery award-winning books and many of the Caldecott and Newbery honor books. The collection does not include textbooks for children or young adults.
