I returned my library books, why are they still showing up as checked out on my account?

You can check the status of books that you have checked out using your Library Card Account.

  1. Visit the Library Search page.
  2. Use the menu in the top-right corner of the page to access your Library Card.
  3.  Once you are signed in, you can see the status of all materials that you have checked out.

Please note that books returned in the book drops are not checked in immediately.

  • At times when many books are being returned – such as the end of the semester – it may take longer than usual for books to be checked in. We will get them checked in soon, and we thank you for your patience!
  • OhioLINK books returned over the weekend will be checked in Monday morning with a return date of the previous Friday.

If you are returning books near their due date and need them checked in immediately, please return them directly to a library service desk.

If it has been several days since returned a book and it is still showing as checked out on your account, please contact the Libraries for further assistance.
